Following Jesus into the Renewal of Everything
Hi, I’m Insoo!
I’m a pastor, writer, teacher, and dreamer. For more than 25 years, I’ve had the privilege of serving churches in Miami, Chicago, Columbus, and Vancouver. Along the way, I’ve planted churches, helped lead a multisite church, and discovered that the Kingdom of God is far more beautiful, surprising, and life-changing than I ever imagined. My life’s aim is to follow Jesus and help people discover how their own stories fit into the Great Story God is telling. I’m glad you’re here.
The Impossibly Beautiful Kingdom
Following King Jesus into the Renewal of Everything
My New Book
What if the life you’ve been longing for is closer than you think? Jesus came announcing the arrival of a kingdom more beautiful than anything we could imagine. A kingdom where broken things are restored, strangers become family, and ordinary lives become places where heaven touches earth. Through personal stories, biblical reflections, and glimpses of God’s kingdom at work in the world, The Impossibly Beautiful Kingdom invites you to rediscover the beauty of Jesus, learn to live in his kingdom here and now, and join him in the renewal of everything. Learn more.

BLOG
Here are some things that I’ve learned in my journey of following Jesus, some questions I have about life and faith, and some things that I get excited about as I think about the future.
SERMONS
This is a small collection of sermons that I’ve preached. They are mostly from Vineyard Columbus and Life Church in Vancouver, BC. I hope you find them helpful.
CHURCH PLANTING
Church planting is something that I am passionate about. It is one of the key ways that we see the Kingdom of God expand here on earth as it is in heaven.
The economy of the kingdom of God is quite simple. Every new step in the kingdom costs us everything we have gained to date. Every time we cross a new threshold, it costs us everything we now have. Every new step may cost us all the reputation and security we have accumulated up to that point. It costs us our life. A disciple is always ready to take the next step. If there is anything that characterizes Christian maturity, it is the willingness to become a beginner again for Jesus Christ. It is the willingness to put our hand in his hand and say, “I’m scared to death, but I’ll go with you. You’re the Pearl of great price.”
